The Harvest “But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved - TopicsExpress

The Harvest “But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’” Matthew 9:36-38 We need to be more concerned for those who do not know Jesus as Savior. Jesus said, “the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:10) We must join the Lord in that mission. Did you know that there are more than 7 billion people in this world now? Did you know that over 150,000 people die every day? Do you realize that most of them do not know Jesus as Savior? There was a fire in Detroit in 1894 in which seven men perished. Speaking at a Revival Service that night, Rev. J. Wilbur Chapman informed his congregation of the death of these men. There was scarcely a dry eye in the church because many of them knew these men and their families. Upon seeing this, Rev. Chapman made this observation: “We are greatly concerned when men are in physical distress, but when we realize that souls are lost, we seem positively to be indifferent.” Unfortunately, his statement still rings true today. At our church prayer meetings, we spend more time praying for sick Christians than we do praying for lost souls. The church seems to be asleep while the world is going to hell around us. All of friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers that are lost will spend eternity in a place of torment called Hell unless we lead them to Jesus. The Bible says that when we lead a person to salvation in Christ, we are “snatching them out of the fire.” (Jude 23) The Prophet Isaiah said, “I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’” (Isaiah 6:8) Are you willing to be a laborer for Christ? Will you go and share the good news of salvation in Christ? Join Isaiah in saying to the Lord, “Here am I! Send Me!” Because He Lives, Keith Like my “Because He Lives” Facebook page to receive my devotions on FB. Feel free to share them with your friends. facebook/BecauseHeLivesDailyDevotions
