The Hastings DHB is obliged to supply us with potable accessible drinking water. If you do not wish to drink this Hastings /Havelock North / Flaxmere water that is contaminated with hydrofluorosilicic acid, then please contact us with your complaint and whether you have had a doctor or health laboratory advise you to stop drinking this water. I copy below a message and plea for help from a Hastings resident. We are looking into household fluoride removal options....although way out of our price range, some places are offering finance options....scary thought but its either that or move unfortunately...the health of our family is the number one priority here. I want to know your thoughts on Bone Char versus Reverse Osmosis please. I had a long conversation with a man from an nz health site yesterday who was very sure that Bone Char was the safest most effective option ( I had originally thought R/O was). The cost just for the complete filter system was going to be $3,900 excluding installation....and replacement of filters every 4-6 years at a cost of over $1,000...and a small cheaper filter replacement every 6 months as well. We rent our home, but he said it is portable. Any info, & advice would be appreciated. Thank you
