The Hays Sunflower Chapter of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia will Host the Annual Kansas Round-Up of Chapters in Hays, Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the Whiskey Creek back meeting room. Registration is $10.00 for Members and $15.00 for non-members. Lunch and Banquet are $25.00 per person. A variety of speakers and activities will be presented including: “The Life of a Young German Woman in Soviet Forced Labor Camps” by Alex & Nancy Herzog from Boulder, Colorado; “Faith Through Architecture: The Volga Germans Churches on the Steppe” by Brent Mai, Director of the Center for Volga German Studies in Portland, Oregon; “Gaul oder Pferd: Dialect of Ellis County” by William and Rose Wasinger, Wichita, Kansas; “Our Volga German Family in Argentina” by Oren & Guy Windholz, Hays, Ks.
