The Herald Sun urges Victorians to vote for the return of the Napthine Coalition Government... Here are some extracts from todays Editorial... In casting their votes, Victorians should ask themselves this: What is the case for throwing the Napthine Government out of office? Victoria leads the nation in economic management. Voters have acknowledged Dr Napthine as a dependable Premier in an unpredictable Parliament, and place him ahead of Mr Andrews in the polls as preferred premier. Indeed, the Coalition’s good economic management has allowed both parties to promise expansive spending on new schools, hospitals, police and transport projects. Andrews has no plans for a city-airport rail link. Lawlessness in the construction industry would be compounded under Labor. For more than two years, the Labor leader has remained mute, while the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union faces allegations of blackmail and intimidation at hearings of the Royal Commission into Union Governance and Corruption. On Mr Andrews’ watch, this most militant of unions was even allowed back into Labor’s policy-making body. In other words, CFMEU state secretary John Setka, who has racked up a string of serious criminal convictions for industrial thuggery, will have a loud voice within an Andrews Labor government. A former building royal commissioner considers that Mr Andrews’ plan to abandon the state’s building code is a disaster in the making. But for Victoria, most alarming of all is Daniel Andrews’ backflip on the East West Link. After spending most of the year assuring Victorians he would honour contracts and build the Link, the Labor leader used some questionable legal advice to change his mind. It could cost Victorians hundreds of millions of dollars in cost overruns on state projects, as Labor bends over backwards to accommodate CFMEU demands.... It will open taxpayers up to huge financial losses. Daniel Andrews reckless decision to tear up the East West Link contract will trash Victoria’s reputation as a destination in which to do business and invest. How can a politician who so flippantly changes his mind be trusted? Read the full editorial here... ow.ly/3uXpI2
