The Hip Thrust is not exactly a Powerlifting event but, if it was, an isometric contraction should be hold for at least 3 seconds -with sufficient posterior pelvic tilt- before the eccentric phase. In this very short video well show you how it is done. Its obviously not a Powerlifting event but, it it was, the Hip Thrusts should be hold in isometric contraction per 3 seconds -posterior pelvic tilt-, before initiating the eccentric component of the lift.
