The Holy Spirit convicts us of certain habits which we have lived with all our lives. They may not necessarily be sins but they can lead to sins. Peter was rush about the death of Jesus. He promised he will not deny The Lord. Peter meant well but his idea culminated from his soul because of the human proclevity. If one happens to be rash with his promises but never honours them The Holy Spirit will convict such a person by opening his eyes to the repurcussion of empty words.
