The House just passed the border supplemental bill - with my support. This bill is good for Texas and our national security. It boosts border security and enforcement, increases National Guard presence on the border at the discretion of border state governors, it more strongly combats illegal immigration and drug trafficking, amends the 2008 law requiring special treatment for children from countries other than Mexico and Canada, it provides emergency care for the current humanity crisis, and it accelerates the repatriation of illegal border crossers. We will also vote on a bill in a few minutes to freeze DACA, which is one of President Obamas amnesty programs he enacted through executive action. I fully intend to vote in favor.
