The Huffington post, which was good before it was bought up by AOL, annoys me because I cannot comment because they cannot organise themselves. So I will put my comment on this article here: This country has gone mad. It is hard to sum up but the problem seems to lie in the idea that in a competitive world the route to success is to do what the successful people do. The contradiction lies with the other ill thought out notion that they want everyone to be successful. In a competitive world everyone cannot be successful. So to attempt (ridiculously and oppressively) to help these children they are really suggesting that if they try even harder they will succeed. It is like pyramid marketing - it takes a simple mind to think it can work. Sir Michael Wilshaw is, as they say parochially, up his own arse. If he were just a little more intelligent he would notice that all the research carried out (as opposed to facts collected to support a biased opinion) indicates he is wrong. I have to add that it distresses me to see such moronic, illogical, irrational nonsense spewing out from what is essentially a suit covering an, as yet, still moving cadaver. huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/04/03/school-age-ofsted_n_5081617.html
