The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley (HSTV) provides solutions for ending euthanasia of adoptable animals in Tennessee. As a no-kill organization, we make a promise to the animals that they will be treated in a humane and compassionate manner, and that they will not be euthanized for space. Adoptable animals are defined as domestic dogs and cats that do not have a terminal illness nor have severe aggressive behavioral issues. Some animals, like Bear, exhibit unpredictable aggression towards humans, including severe kennel aggression that HSTV cannot safely rehabilitate. Within the environment of HSTV Bear continued to deteriorate. A group of people with hands on Bear experience will be in charge of Bear and his future. HSTV has a responsibility to ensure both the mental and physical health of the animals while keeping our community safe. We rescue over 1,000 animals each year and we regret that HSTV was not able to help this boy in 5 months and 4 failed adoptions. Thank you for your understanding and support. Adopt, Spay, Keep.
