The ICH NGO Forum intends being a platform for communication, networking, exchange and cooperation for NGOs accredited By UNESCO to provide advisory services to the Intergovernmental Committee in the framework of the UNESCO Convention for the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003). The Forum also welcomes NGOs who are active in the ICH field and preparing their request for accreditation. The ICH NGO Forum organizes meetings and symposia concerning shared international challenges in the safeguarding policy and practice of ICH, and particularly engages in following the work and evolution of the 2003 Convention. Recurring meetings happen simultaneously with the Convention’s Meetings of the General Assembly (every two years in June) and the Intergovernmental Committee (annually in December). The first meetings with the accredited NGOs to come take place from 1-7 December 2013 with 8.COM Intergovernmental Committee at BAKU (Azerbajan). The annual Symposium is programmed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, 1 December 2013.
