The ICRA Act in 75 following the US withdrawal in Viet Nam, the refugees from the Iranian revolution in the late 70s, the welcoming of the Marielitos in the 1980s, the refugees who came from Somalia and other African hot spots in the late 1980s, and the influx of Russian and Eastern European refugees following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Lets stop calling them illegal immigrants, call them refugees from wars and economic conditions prompted or supported by US policy, and bring them into the fold for relief as we have done time and again with other people from around the world.
