The Impact Of The Treasure Bag Event It’s amazing how the Lord is using this ministry. Our Treasure Bag For Troops event has had a huge impact on our military community since we began this monthly event on February of 2011. At this monthly event, our troops and their families not only receive a Treasure Bag, but also get the opportunity to hear the gospel. Since February of 2011 to date, we have shared the gospel with over 2450 Sailors, Marines, their spouses and children. We distributed 897 Treasure Bags to close to 1000 military families. More important, 465 people made decisions to receive Jesus Christ as Savior. In 2013, from January to September we gave away 288 Treasure Bags to 310 families. In 2013 close to 750 Sailors, Marines, and their family members came to the event and heard the gospel, and 116 people prayed to receive Christ as Savior. Our event starts at noon but many families show up a 10AM to be able to get a Treasure Bag. That means many of these families wait up to 2 hours to get a Treasure Bag. One Sailor attached to the Wounded Warrior Unit at the Navy Regional Medical Center shared this with us about her experience at the monthly outreach. “I want the info for the banquet in October. I want to thank you for this program. I am very thankful and grateful for all you do. God bless and thank you for the prayers. They meant a lot. Have a blessed day.’’ - Annamarie Planning For Thanksgiving And Christmas Thanksgiving and Christmas can be one of the most difficult times of the year for a military family with someone deployed. One can only imagine what life is like for those families. We can show these families that we are grateful for their sacrifice by donating a Treasure Bag for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our goal this year is to provide 100 military families with a Thanksgiving Treasure Bag this year. This will also give us the ability to share the gospel with more families that are military. Especially the families of our troops attached to the “Wounded Warrior Unit” at Naval Regional Medical Center. If we reach our goal of 100 Treasure Bags we will be able to give 40 of those bags to The Wounded Warrior families. What better way to say thank you! The cost for donating a Thanksgiving Treasure Bag is only $35.00, but will go a long way to tell our troops, and their families “thank you”.
