The Indiana Supreme Court says the Bureau of Motor Vehicles can continue suspending sales of vanity plates until a court case is settled. WISH-TV reports the court has granted a state request to stay a lower court ruling ordering the BMV to resume selling the personalized license plates. The court made the order public Monday. A Marion County judge ordered the BMV in May to resume the sales after a Greenfield police officer won a lawsuit claiming the agency had unconstitutionally refused to renew his plate reading OINK. Because of the lawsuit, the BMV halted all vanity plate sales in July 2013.
