The Interior Ministry has taken preventive measures and made arrangements to face aggressive behavior, especially among youth, as the phenomenon poses a threat to the society, a senior official said on Friday. In order to counter such behavior, committees have to be formed and meetings and workshops have to be held to diagnose the causes behind the phenomenon and why it is growing, in a bid to develop solutions, Assistant Undersecretary of the Correctional Facilities and Provisions Implementation Maj.Gen. Khaled Abdullah Al-Deen, said in a press statement. Part of this, the Ministry is taking part in the Non-Violence Week that kicks off on Sunday, organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences at in Kuwait University. It is sponsored by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister: Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. For Al-Deen, countering aggressive behavior is a responsibility of all state institutions. He referred to the efforts by the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences and the National Security College, which set programs and training courses for the Ministry personnel on identifying the phenomenon and drawing up security plans to face it. The Non-Violence Week coincides with organizing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Unified Inmates Week, at the behest of the Interior Minister. The event, held under Take my hand to a better tomorrow, is followed up by Ministry Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad. The event is attended by GCC delegations and human rights organizations. The GCC Inmates Week comprises various programs and applications prepared by the Correctional Institutes and Provisions Implementation Department, aiming at spreading the culture of containing inmates in their later life, and caring for them so as help them be once more good citizens
