The Islamic militants of ISIS are believed to have taken at least four Americans hostage. They brutally murdered James Foley and threatened the life of fellow journalist Steven Sotloff. In fact, they’ve threatened to kill all the US hostages since Foley’s murder. Now, they’re reportedly demanding $6.6 million in ransom for a third hostage, an unnamed young American woman who was kidnapped a year ago while she was doing humanitarian relief work in Syria. If you didn’t know just how deep a subterranean layer of scum we were dealing with before, that should make it clear. ISIS won’t get their ransom money, or their other demand. They want the US to release Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who was convicted in 2010 of trying to kill US officials. ISIS is so savage and repellent that Siddiqui’s family released a letter saying they want him freed, but not like this. They say they want no part of ISIS’s threats and violence, and that woman should be sent home to her family right away.
