The Israelites spent 40 years in the wilderness... Grumbling and complaining even though their needs were being met.... And because of their UNBELIEF..most of them never made it to their Promised Land.... The Lord said to Moses, How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me? I will strike them down (14:11,12). But Moses interceded for Israel and asked God for forgiveness (14:13-19). God replied, I have forgiven them, as you asked. Nevertheless, … not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their forefathers When in our wilderness, we must be careful not to take things for granted...and to holdfast to what God has spoken over our lives... When we grumble and complain, we are telling God that what He has given us to sustain us (manna) is not good enough...and when we talk a about giving up or letting go...We are telling God that we dont believe in His promises... Or that He is not a man that He should lie... Let us not be like the Israelites who couldnt trust the God who kept (sustained) them in the wilderness... Rather let us Give Thanks for the little until the day we receive the LOT! (The race is not given to the swift nor the strong but he who endures until the end.)
