The Janks - Full show! The Satellite Silverlake, California 2014.08.01 After Muddys record release party in the Kibitz Room, and a nice dinner at Canters Deli, myself and several friends decided to venture into SkidRokyo to see whats happening at The Escondite (Hideout). I didnt really plan on taping after taping Breaking27 and Mark Dutton, but wanted to catch some more local music. I saddled up to the bar, Victoria greeted me, and brought me what she knows I like. Have to appreciate a bartender that understands her customers needs. I brought my recorder but just hooked an XY mic at 90 degrees, I probably should have done 120 degrees, but 90 worked out fine. I said hello to the band and we chatted a bit before the 2nd set. After their set I talked to them a bit and they told me they were gonna play at The Satellite, and I should go check out The Janks. Not many bands are selfless enough to promote other bands at a show they are playing. These guys talked very highly about The Janks, so I made it a point to attend. I got to the venue about an hour and 1/2 early. The parking attendants said it was going to be a very crowded night. Thats always a good sign. They parked my car right in front of the venue, nice gesture of them, since I attend the venue quite a bit. There was no doorman at the venue, I walked in, talked to The Diamond Light briefly in th edressing room, thank you for putting me on the list. Thats why you got your show first. I was introduced to the drummer of The Janks by Kim and to the rest of the videography crew. I asked if I could tape. He said yes. This is what the mics captured. monopod, Sunday Dinner Mic Array, my ears
