The Jenkins home at 3326 Conrad Drive in North Baton Rouge in 1968. Thats my dad, Louis Little Ory Jenkins and my mom, Doris Rowlett Jenkins. We lived in that house from 1959 when I was in the 7th grade until 1972, the year I was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives. It was a house with many happy memories. Our neighbors were the Hodges to our left, the Berhnes across the street, and the Dykes (of Dykes Store) to the right. The Dykes family, which included Johnny and Linda Dykes, lived on the corner of Winbourne and Conrad. Next to Dykes were the Ballards and their daughter Linda. Im posting this photo for a couple of reasons. First, I wanted you to see my mom and dad and where we lived. But I also wanted to use this photograph to show you something that may be useful and rewarding for you. Most black and white photos were printed wallet size, which makes it very difficult to see the details. But if you scan your photos at 300 dpi or higher, you can blow them up and see all kinds of details that cannot be seen with the naked eye. I enjoyed blowing up this one just to have another closeup of my mom and dad. Sometimes, remarkable things jump out at you. Try it and let me know your results!
