The Judgment Throw? It is a clear teaching of scripture that there will be a resurrection from the dead before judgment will take place: “#Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him (Jesus), I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day”. John 11:24 “Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead”. Isaiah 26:19 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of #God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a #nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” Daniel 12:1-3 Then #said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just“. Luke 14:12-14 “And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of #God, being the children of the resurrection.” Luke 20:34-36 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.” Acts 17:32 Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead? Acts 26:8 From these passages it can be seen that to believe in the Bible one must accept the doctrine of the resurrection from the dead. This is not to say a ‘resurrection’ of a soul leaving a body to float to heaven upon death. Many of the passages above, and we will soon see later in this article, that the Bible speaks of a literal, bodily resurrection from the dead. In fact, God’s promises which make up the gospel message actually demand a bodily resurrection: “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise… And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect”. Hebrews 11:8&40 #The fallacy of mainstream Christendom is to preach the doctrine of the “immortal soul” – a doctrine which can trace it’s roots right back to ancient pagan beliefs. The Bible does not teach such a thing but rather that the soul dies and the dead are unconscious (Ezek 18:4, Psalm 146:3-4). Therefore by changing the true Biblical teaching on what happens when man dies the churches around have also had to distort the teaching of the resurrection. What is the point in a full bodily resurrection at some future point in time, if men and woman already have immortality in heaven now? Therefore to open ones mind to reject the concept of heaven going upon death also allows for one to accept the Bible teaching of the resurrection.
