The Jurassic Park sequel Jurassic World is prepping to shoot this summer in New Orleans, and producers of the Universal-backed film will be in town this month to get a head-start on finding thousands of locals willing to serve as dinosaur food paid background extras. To that end, theyve scheduled two casting calls for March 29 and 30 at the Grace King High School cafeteria. The casting call refers to the film only as Ebb Tide, which is the working title of Jurassic World and the name under which Universal registered the project with the state. The calls will be from noon to 6 p.m. both days at the school, 4301 Grace King Place, Metairie. Men, women and families of all ethnic backgrounds and between the ages 5 to 85 are being sought, as are military service members. Those interested should bring two of the following to assist in filling out their IRS I-9 form: a valid U.S. passport or passport card, valid permanent resident card, valid drivers license or photo ID, and an original Social Security card or birth certificate. Those interesting in participating but who cant make it to either casting call can email a current photo along with their height, weight and contact information to louisiana@centralcasting. Jurassic World, directed by Colin Trevorrow, is the fourth film in the dinosaur franchise started by Steven Spielberg with 1993s Jurassic Park. Spielberg is among the executive producers of Trevorrows film. Plot details are scare, although the film will star Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt and Omar Sy, among others. After a Hawaii shoot, it is scheduled to film in New Orleans for 11 weeks starting June 2, with a scheduled release date of June 12, 2015.
