The Kiawah Island Golf Resort Triathlon utilizes the NOAA system for Charleston to determine water temperature. As of today the Charleston Harbor Water Temperature is 84 degrees and use of a wetsuit will result in race disqualification, meaning you may finish the race but your results will not be published and you will not be awarded the finishers medal. We will have a monitor at the Swim Out/Boardwalk who will notate the chip numbers of those athletes that choose to wear a wetsuit. Those chip numbers will be relayed to our timer and their results will be scratched. We will have a whiteboard at the swim start on race morning that will indicate the current water temperature and the legality of wetsuits. Dont hesitate to ask any of our race staff if you have any questions.
