The Lansing School District, the City of Lansing and Michigan State University Federal Credit Union launched the Lansing SAVE initiative on January 16, 2015 at Willow Elementary. Kindergartners enrolled in the Lansing SAVE account receive a $5 opening deposit contributed by MSUFCU; parents, guardians, grandparents, and other family and friends can contribute to the account at any MSUFCU branch location or by direct deposit or ACH transfer. Kindergartners currently enrolled in Cumberland, Lyons, Reo, Riddle and Willow schools will be the first kindergartners targeted by the program. The initiative will build to include all Lansing School District elementary schools over the next four years
