The Last Days? In Matthew 24, Jesus prophesied the destruction - TopicsExpress

The Last Days? In Matthew 24, Jesus prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple that would thereby signify the end of the age of the Mosaic Covenant. He said it would happen during the lifetime of those in the generation he spoke to. His prophesy did not fail. Neither did the prophetic warnings given by the apostles for those last days of the Old Covenant. Everything came to pass just as predicted to the people of that generation. To presume that these things wouldn’t happen for a couple of thousand years makes a mockery of the prophecy of Jesus and the apostles. When these scriptures are understood in the context they were written in and to, understanding the New Testament and the Old is not the complex mishmash of a puzzle that the modern doctrine of Dispensationalism makes of them. I hope those who are tired of an escapist pessimistic future will seek wisdom and understanding from the Spirit of Truth and begin to realize that Jesus will remain at the right hand of the Father until God makes all of his enemies a footstool (resting place) and the knowledge of the glory of the Lord fills the earth. Meanwhile, Christ’s kingdom will advance until the Stone becomes a mountain that fills the whole earth. He triumphed over the evil one at the cross and he will not be getting off his throne for a defeated foe. It really is time for the Body of Christ to come into agreement and be of one mind with our Head and King, Christ Jesus—so to become salt and light to the darkest places of this earth and advance the kingdom, because as he is so also are we in this world. Glory to God!
