Hi Everyone, I figured I’d introduce myself as it seems everyone has an opinion on us. When my partner and I started 2 Hungry Guys a little over 5 weeks ago we did it with the intent to immerse ourselves into the world of food blogging. Having come from simply posting snaps on our personal instagrams and reading the fantastic array of Sydney food blogs we decided we wanted to be a part of a community that loves food just as much as we do. So we started 2 Hungry Guys. The problem was we didnt really know how to inject ourselves into a community that was already so close and established, so we decided the best way was to simply follow people on our instagram account to make people aware of us. After we grew our following base from the Sydney community, we unfollowed a whole bunch of people and started the process all over again. Unfortunately, we made the error of doing this and looking back on it now, we can see how annoying it must have been, even if our intention was just for you to notice us. Either way we would like to apologize and have now ceased doing so. When we started meeting all of you at foodie events we were so pleased to find just how lovely you all were, seeing as we have been following your blogs for years. So you can imagine our surprise and disappointment to wake up one morning to find that someone had created an account making fun of us. Just to be clear – it’s not funny. It’s straight out bullying and harassment. We have actually never met or spoken to the person responsible for this account. We contacted them directly through their blog, apologizing if we had done something to offend them and kindly asked them to take it down. More posts were put up in response. Media companies, restaurants and bloggers were tagged in a direct attack to tarnish our name, our blog, our own personal hobby that we do for fun without any monetary compensation. We decided to simply ignore it. It’s pretty disheartening to see from the comments below just how easily it is to laugh at something when it doesnt affect you. Some of you might think that we comment yum or delicious or like your photos simply to widen our own audience - it’s really not the case. We started this for the same reasons you all did. We love food. We know a lot of you are wondering who started 2 Hangry Guys. So Ive left a photo down the bottom. Im sure you can make the connection. Hopefully we will see you all around.
