The Lee County Small Museum Conference on May 3rd is open to all small museums. It will be held at the Loveland Community House, 513 W. 2nd Street, Dixon, Illinois. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the cost is $25.00 which includes lunch. The speakers will include: Danielle Spalenka, Curator of Manuscripts for the Regional History Center at Northern Illinois University. She will be speaking on archive basics, principals, policies and disaster planning. Sharon Welton, Executive Director of the Campbell Center in Mount Carroll, Illinois. She will be speaking on textile care & preservation plus photo preservation. Bonnie Parr, Historical Conservator for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, will be speaking on guidelines for preserving old books and documents.
