The Levee Improvement Commission will hold a special meeting next - TopicsExpress

The Levee Improvement Commission will hold a special meeting next Tuesday to consider the lease agreement for the Dock development. The commission recommended to council that a condition of the lease be that if the economic development agreement is not met, the lease and parking license agreement be nullified. Also, the commission wants to be assured that parking spaces near the amphitheater, next to the development site, remain available to the public. The council is likely to receive a staff recommendation to table approval of the lease agreement for one cycle. Under terms of the lease, the Levee Improvement Commission would receive $100,000 annually. Developer Todd Raufeisen proposes building a $12 million to $15 million project with 17,000 square feet of restaurant space, 14,000 square feet of office space and 7,000 square feet for banquet use. The commission will meet Aug. 19 at 2 p.m.
