The Lifestyles of the Hereditary Plutocracy... >:( I am a devoted Lefty and HARSH opponent of unregulated, Laissez-faire Capitalism; Trickle-Down Voodoo Economics; and the passing-down of immense family fortunes to undeserving heirs, who didnt build ANYTHING - except filling their diapers, after winning the birth lottery - by being born into wealth and privilege. Many Americans make fun of the British Royal Family and - even the popular British TV-series, Downton Abbey draws yawns and/or outright criticism for the unbridled splendor of the titled landowners - and the clear Class Distinctions that existed to even greater extremes, just a century ago. Our Founding Fathers clearly did NOT WANT the newly free and united colonies to become a similar society, a nation of ROYALTY and PEASANTS. Many of them warned us of the dangers of corporations... The end of democracy and the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporations. ~ Thomas Jefferson The same can be said of the owners or those corporations, able to pass near unlimited wealth onto their heirs, like Sam Walton was able to do to his children, those who are now the wealthiest family in America, with the Koch brothers running second - also inheritors of great wealth. By comparison, TV-mogul, Aaron Spelling was actually poor! In fact, the unfortunate fellow wasnt even a BILLIONAIRE; amassing only $600-million! Piker! Still, his daughter, nouveau riche TV-talent (?) Tori Spelling and her co-star husband, Dean, have managed to blow $18-million in just TWO SHORT YEARS! She is such a model citizen and champion of the poor, that she maintains 127-storage units (and all those storage unit jobs!) - just to store her lavish goodies, which requires a 440-page MANIFEST to keep track of it all! :P I wont elaborate on the story postscript - that even Daddy Aaron was so alarmed that he actually only left her $800,000 - because of her spendthrift ways. Frankly, I doubt if the terms of Spellings will limited her to ONLY that teeny-tiny bequest. Tori and Dean will NEVER WANT for anything. Nor will they EVER have to get a REAL JOB. Nor will the eternal progeny of Sam Walton, the Koch brothers, the Romneys, or any of the children of the .1%. Why SHOULD THEY WORK...? Thats something only the little poor people do. Like paying taxes and fighting wars. That sound you might be hearing could be Thomas Jefferson, spinning in his grave. Or, it might be me - sharpening the tines of me pitchfork! ;)
