The Living Christmas Story began in 1987 through the vision of Bob and Kathryn Tindale and over the years has become a favorite event around Tallahassee at Christmas. Over 7,000 people come through each year. It requires many hours of volunteers constructing the scenes, taking care and organizing the costumes, making meals for all the volunteers on construction days and on each night of LCS and welcoming guests on to our campus. There are folk taking care of our traffic needs, putting signs out, organizing the props, setting up the lighting and tech needs, and of course the 150 actors needed each night. There are so many people working behind the scenes each night getting the actors dressed and in make-up! Men taking care of the torches and the fire pits and another team taking care of the animals, and drivers and hayride volunteers helping people go through the scenes. It takes a great team to make this happen and they start planning as soon as the previous year is completed. Many have been a part of this team from the beginning and believe that this ministry brings the whole church together and even more importantly bringing the true Christmas message to our community. In many ways it is the definition of PRESENT, GROW, SEND! #pgsstory
