The Long Beach City Council agenda for October 1 has been posted, and includes a request for Council to approve entering into a contract with AndersonPenna Partners, Inc., of Newport Beach as the Belmont project manager. See the Council Letter, item R-18 on the agenda, https://longbeach.legistar/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=1482839&GUID=DA554B37-C703-4EAE-BAE7-751E4817867D&Options=&Search=. Once you are on that page, click on the name of the .pdf file (100113-R-18sr.pdf) to see the entire Council Letter. Are any of you familiar with that firm? Their web site is pretty skimpy, and shows just a few projects (andpen/). Based on their web site, they primarily do roadway and sewer projects. Services listed are municipal staffing support, municipal engineering, construction management, inspection and railroad bridge management. Nothing on their site indicates any experience in selecting and overseeing a design team, much less any experience with aquatic facilities, especially major indoor facilities. Unless they have partnered with design and/or architect and engineering firms, I find it to be a very strange choice. Your thoughts?
