The Lord certainly uses pastors who arent obedient to Him and dont wait for His counsel. (So we know hell use me even if you think Im spiritually lost glory!) In the Bible we are told of Balaam (Numbers 24:2) and the Spirit of God came upon him. Even though Balaam had a heart full of covetousness, the Spirit of God still used him to bless the children of Israel. That is absolutely amazing and Gods ways are far above our own. A couple chapters later God slays Balaam so we are certain he was not right before, during or after his prophecy. The Holy Spirit certainly used King Saul even though Saul didnt obey the Lord. He was already rejected by God for disobeying direct commands from the Lord and yet the Bible tells us Saul would go out to war with Israels enemies and harrass them where ever he turned (didnt have time to look up location of this verse so correct me if Im wrong). God desires that sheep get fed and souls are saved so we should never believe just because the Holy Spirit uses someone to bless us that they are His elect. They havent finished their race yet (2 Timothy 4:7). God bless you.
