The Lord says I need to explain further from my conversation with Brian Jarrells this morning. I asked him that if I’m not driving my car but just have it parked for awhile, is it possible to not pay on my insurance premium when it’s due in September, and then at whatever time I start driving it again, call and start it back up? As he questioned me, I could not speak anything negative about my body since I’m still believing God for my miraculous healing on my leg. So I said my car had some mechanical difficulties (which is true, since the battery is drained) and that I’m not going to be doing anything about it for a while - could be a number of months. And I told him I’m riding with others right now. So he recommended ‘Parked Coverage.’ The way I understand the law is that liability insurance is connected with your drivers’ license not your car. That way you can drive any car on the planet. If for instance something came up and you’d need to drive a neighbor’s car to help them, you’d be covered. Periodically the Bureau of Motor Vehicles sends out letters at random selection requiring a motorist to prove they carry insurance on their car. If I would totally cancel American Family at this time, and if I’d receive one such letter, I couldn’t prove I had car insurance during the time they specified, which would result in the suspension of my drivers’ license. They don’t care if you say you’ve had your car parked and haven’t been driving it. That does not factor in. One time a few years ago I did receive one such letter from the BMV. As I recall, all I did was photocopy my little blue square from my glove box stating I had been carrying insurance, and sent that back to them in an envelope. So as I was talking on the phone to Brian, the Lord prompted me twice to tell him to get the ‘Parked Coverage.’ So I told Brian that’s what I’d do, and he said probably next week I’d get some paperwork from American Family Insurance telling about the change and the new price.
