The Lowcountry Immigration Coalition and over 60 members of the Hispanic and Anglo communties rallied in support of comprehensive immigration reform with a path to citizenship today in Beaufort, SC. The event was part of the National Day of Dignity and Respect and held at the office of Congressman Mark Sanford. The Coalition has been trying to meet with the Congressman and at the rally a staff member addessed the group and indicated that Rep. Sanford would meet with the Coalition at a later date. The event was covered by the Island Packet and Beuafort Gazette, as well as WSAV and WJCL in Savannah. See attached pictures of the rally.
