The MDC Youth Secretary for South AfricanProvince, Isabel Mkhosi Moyo who died last Wednesday morning at Parirenyatwa Hospital inHarare was buried yesterday at her rural home in Brunapeg, Plumtree. Speaking at the funeral attended by more than two thousand people MDC National Chairman, Lovemore More said the party has lost a vibrant youth leader who worked tirelessly to see the total emancipation of Zimbabweans. “The party has lost one of its most vibrant youth leaders. She was respectful and exceptionally intelligent. She was clear on the dictates of the party and a visionary par excellence,” Moyo said. Moyo said engagement of young people into mainstream politics showed the state of decay in the way this country is being run. He said this engagement, buoyed by the need to address political imbalances and chaos brought by Zanu Pf was the major drive for young people to seek for change in this country. Moyo also took time to thank people in Matabeleland South for voting for the party of excellence saying even though Zanu PF went on to rig the outcome, the party was set to fail. He urged members to remain steadfast and loyal to the party as the fundamental principles of its formation had not changed. “The victors are not celebrating their victory, they have realized that Zimbabwe is more than the torches and pots which they distributed. Their ship will sink soon and those aboard shall be humiliated. The MDC stands for the future and the dictates of this future are founded on principles of openness, good governance, transparency and equal representation. No amount of political bickering and corruption can turn around this economy. Never!” Moyo said Also speaking at the funeral The MDC Chairperson of the South African MDC Youth Assembly Giyane Dube said Isabel will be missed in the for her witty judgment. Dube said Isabel has left a painful void before the fruition of her desire to transform the governance of this country. Isabel complained of chest pains during her trip to Zimbabwe and was subsequently admitted at Parirenyatwa hospital in Harare about two weeks ago. Although she kept on asking for prayers and indicating that she was in the Intensive Care Unit; it remained unthinkable that she would succumb to that illness.
