The MEC chairperson Justice Maxon Mbendera, in his address at the - TopicsExpress

The MEC chairperson Justice Maxon Mbendera, in his address at the National Tally Centre in Blantyre, confirmed that 188 of the total complaints had, as of the time of the address, been processed already. When asked if, while processing the complaints, any evidence of rigging, as is being claimed by some political parties and their sympathizers, was found, Mbendera had a categorical NO for an answer. The ordinary meaning of Mbendera’s response is that the allegations of rigging, from the perspective of the Malawi’s Elections Referee, have not been proven. Thus, on the basis of the MEC chairperson’s position, unless evidence is adduced, rigging NEVER took place. Period! It seems in their failure to manage their bitterness and accept that their preferred candidates or political parties lost, many people have lost grip of their heads and their objectivity has, in the process, become a casualty.
