The Madam, I see you are up from your nap. Me - nothing - munching a cracker with a puckering bit of Cotswold Double Gloucester Cheese w/ onion & chives some secret Santa left hanging on our door. The Madam, I see you are not talking today. Me (pause), Communicating, not talking. The Madam, How is not talking communicating? Me - pause x 2, Silence IS communicating. The Madam, And you are going to tell me how silence is communicating, right? Me - took a drink of juice to un-pucker - pause, It is a very healthy form of communication between a man and a woman. Silence is an affirmation of a womans unequaled perception - words would be inadequate in such a case as this. The Madam, And just WHAT are you affirming? Me, That since I am standing upright and eating a cracker and cotswold cheese, I must indeed be up from my nap! The Madam, Harrumph! Im going shopping! - Silence! - (Women dont get communicating, do they?)
