The Marco Island Sail and Power Squadron will hold the seminar How to Use a Chart and GPS on Jan 20 and 21st beginning at 6 PM each night. This two-night seminar is the first topic in our educational series after the ABC course you passed in the Fall. This seminar addresses on the first night how to use a paper chart to determine your location and how to get to another location and on the second night it addresses how to use a GPS chartplotter for the same purposes. Beginning on Feb 3rd is an eight-session course entitled Seamanship which covers fundamental boat handling, helmsmanship, docking, anchoring, marlinspike, safety etc. in much more detail than the ABC course.
