The Marian antiphons are sung after the Liturgy of the Hours according to the time of year. From the beginning of ADVENT through to Candlemas (2nd February), we sing the ALMA REDEMPTORIS MATER. Join us in the Divine Word Chapel at 7:30 AM weekdays for Morning Prayer (8:30 AM weekends) and for Vespers at 4:30 PM daily. Today, we begin a new liturgical year with the joyful season of Advent. It is a time of waiting, expectation, hope, penance and preparation. As we prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of our Savior, we ask ourselves whether we are ready not just for the feast of His Nativity, but also for His second coming at the end of time. Who better, then, to turn to than the sinless Mother of God, the Blessed Virgin Mary? We think of her caring for the unborn Christ in her womb in these last weeks before Christmas.
