The Mask In one way or the other we have all worn a mask to hide the way we are truly feeling inside. Some masks show laughter even though inside the person wearing the mask is melting down inside. Some masks show anger even though the person wearing this mask is not mad at all but theyre feelings are hurt. People wear these masks more than one would think or care to admit. Men think it to be un-manly to show weakness even though at times they are as weak as a newborn baby. Women so often think that theres no time to show weakness simply because they have to much to do and no time for themselves. What we see in society is often an illusion created by people running from something. Many times the illusionist is so good at theyre craft that nobody ever knows until its to late. I can honestly say ive worn a mask and played the role of the tough as nails man all the while i melted inside. No matter which direction i turned despair was all i could find. I was able to look a person in the eye and crack a joke, while watching them try and catch theyre breath from laughing so hard i myself found nothing funny at all. I almost left this world once as my mind was so confused. I had fallen into a deep depression and it was a matter of time until the illusion i had created would come to an end. The fog those with deep depression must walk through is so dence often times they simply cant find theyre way out. If you are wearing a mask tonight i pray you take it off. Its ok we all hurt sometimes and youd be suprized how many loving arms are out hear to hold you and help you through your hour of despair.
