The May 2014 storms imposed a large degree of damage to the Bedford Reservation Bridle and Buckeye Trails. The result left significant destruction to the trail surfaces and drainage structures. In the aftermath - over several months – Park Operations performed substantial repairs to the trail corridors. Approximately 2.6 miles of trail was targeted during this rehabilitation project. The rehabilitation included reestablishment and grading of trail surfacing. A particular focus on proper drainage to prevent future occurrences was also paramount. Numerous culvert pipes were replaced, water bars were installed to redirect storm water, and Works Progress Administration (WPA) structures were reestablished and enhanced. The Bridle and Buckeye Trails rehabilitation project was a Park Operations focal point at Bedford Reservation to enhance and maintain the amenities offered for the public to enjoy. ~RA, Bedford and West Creek Reservation Photos: before and after shots from left to right
