The Meetings of #EdwardNalbandian within the framework of the Council of #ForeignMInisters of the #OSCE in #Basel Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, who was participating in the works of the Council of Ministers of the OSCE Foreign Affairs, hold a number of bilateral meetings in Basel. In the morning of December 4 Edward Nalbandian participated in a meeting of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, where the agenda of the 21st session of the OSCE Ministerial Council as well as the foreign policy coordination issues of the #CSTO member states were discussed. The preliminary works of the Collective Security Council, which will take place at the end of December in #Moscow, were discussed during the meeting. Views on the Armenia - #EU relations were exchanged during the meeting of Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of #Finland Erkki #Tuomioja. On the request of the Minister of Foreign affairs of Finland, Edward Nalbandian presented the approaches of Armenia towards the regional issues and the ways of their possible solution. The latest developments in the #NagornoKarabakh peace process were discussed during the meeting between Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Herbert #Salber, the EU Special Representative for the #SouthCaucasus and the crisis in Georgia. Minister Nalbandian informed the EU special representative about the situation created by the shooting down of the helicopter of the Nagorno-Karabakh #DefenseArmy by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces during a training flight. During the meeting between Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian and Tamar #Beruchashvili, Foreign Minister of #Georgia, Edward Nalbandian, congratulating her on the occasion of her appointment, expressed confidence that the two countries will continue further strengthening and deepening friendly relations. The sides discussed the upcoming schedule of high-level visits, the importance of holding regular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs was stressed. A broad range of regional issues was touched upon. During the meeting between Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Keit Pentus-Rosimannus, Foreign Minister of #Estonia, a satisfaction was expressed about the high level of bilateral relations. The relations between Armenia and the #EuropeanUnion, the Armenian-Estonian collaboration within the frameworks of the international organizations were discussed. The Ministers touched upon the cooperation in the sphere of education. The parties agreed on organizing further mutual visits. Edward Nalbandian together with Foreign Minister of #Russia Sergey #Lavrov discussed the process of fulfillment of the agreements reached at the level of the heads of the two countries, a wide range of issues regarding different spheres of Armenian-Russian relations. Efforts towards the settlement of the regional issues were touched upon. The Ministers expressed satisfaction on the December 4th ratification by the National Assembly of Armenia of the treaty on Armenia’s joining the treaty on the establishment of the #EurasianUnion. The Foreign Minister of Armenia presented to his Russian counterpart about the tense situation created by the shooting down during a training mission of the helicopter of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army by #Azerbaijani armed forces. During the meeting between Edward Nalbandian and George #Vella, the Foreign Minister of #Malta, the further steps aimed at forming of bilateral relations were touched upon. In this regard the joint accreditation of the Armenian ambassador to Valletta was highlighted. The Ministers discussed the enhancement of the collaboration within the frameworks of international organizations, the improvement of the legal framework as well as ways of activation of business ties and cultural exchanges.
