The Men Get Eating Disorders Too Workshop Tour 2013 has come to an end, having finished in Bristol last Friday. In total we have delivered 14 dates across England in just over 12 months. We are greatly appreciative of the funding from Big Lottery Fund and Co-operative Fund for enabling us to take our training beyond the South-east. Following the success of the half day workshops, we are putting on three full day workshops Manchester on 1st November, London on 17th December and Birmingham on 17th January. We are exploring the possibility of additional dates in other areas. The workshops are aimed at professionals, carers and others in a supportive role. Our half day training aims to give participants a better understanding of eating disorders in men so they can become more responsive to men’s needs and recognise the barriers sufferers feel they face when approaching treatment and recovery.
