The Message (a.k.a. Muhammad, Messanger of God) The Message is an epic film about the history of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). It was released in 1977. The film’s director is Moustapha Akkad, an America-Syrian. When the film was made, Hollywood was not happy about it because of its Islamic tone. However, Akkad continued to make the film. When he ran out of the funds, Muammar Khadafi, the young leader of Libya at the time financially supported him to finish the film. Despite the Islamic theme, the actors and actrees in the film were mostly from Hollywood. Since “The Message “ there has not been any single film that could be paralleled with it. May Allah Bless Moustapha Akkad for his work to produce this film. Akkad died in 2005 in a hotel in Amman, Jordania, because of suicide bomb attack of Al Qaeda.
