The Mobile Vet Center is headed to American Legion in Bennington VT for a Veterans Welcome Home event for all Veterans on the 18 March 2014 from 0800 to 1600. White River Junction Vermont’s Mobile Vet Center (MVC), is one of a fleet of 90 mobile Vet Centers in the United States. The VA’s Vet Center Program, travels to VT, NH and NY to reach underserved Veterans. The 29 foot motor coach, with space for confidential counseling, carries Vet Center counselors and outreach workers to provide non-medical readjustment counseling, addressing the social and economic dimensions of post-war needs. This includes counseling for traumatic military-related experiences and family counseling when needed for the veteran’s readjustment or assisting Fed Benefits. Vet Centers, operated by VA Readjustment Counseling Service, provide high quality non-medical readjustment counseling to combat veterans in an easily accessible, homey and trusting atmosphere.
