The Municipal League Foundation is seeking candidates to serve on our new Education Committee. The League offers an exciting opportunity to explore a critical issue to our region using the Leagues time tested analysis, tools, and processes. This committee will undertake a study of school board governance in districts in King County as its first project. Were seeking individuals with some background or experience in school governance issues. The Municipal League is a 104 year old organization dedicated to promoting government that is open, effective and accountable. We conduct research and educate the public on matters of community interest and encourage the development of civic participation and leadership in King County. As with all of our work, the Education Committee will be non-partisan and independent with respect to political positions and will strive to use good government as its principal lens. We expect the committee to meet for about a year and the commitment to be about 2 to 4 hours per month. Meetings will be during the day in downtown Seattle. We encourage interest from all parts of the county and from candidates from a diverse and balanced set of perspectives.
