The NCGOP Executive Committee had 8 very well qualified Candidates from which to choose one for endorsement. When the voting reached the point that we were down to the final two Candidates, the choices were very difficult, as both were exceptionally well qualified to serve on the NC Court of Appeals. The final vote resulted in the selection of Judge John M. Tyson. Judge Tyson has 35 years of private practice and judicial experience. He served previously for 8 years on the NC Court of Appeals. He is a solid conservative, is a firm believer in, and practitioner of, the Rule of Law and will not legislate from the Bench. He and his family are life-time Republicans and have personally served the Republican Party extensively. Judge Tyson will undoubtedly serve the Citizens of North Carolina in the most fair, thoughtful, honest and professional manner.
