The National Park Service encourges people to get fit, and to get outoors. This summer join a park ranger at Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic Sites as we explore various sights and sounds along the Hyde Park Trails with four different types of hikes. Our trail hikes are easy to moderate, and are 1 to 3 miles in length. Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 10:00 am - FDR and Forestry This moderate 3 mile round trip hike takes place on the Roosevelt Farm Lane and is lead by a National Park Service Ranger who will talk about FDR’s lesser known career as a tree farmer while pointing out tree plantation managed by the President. Meet at the Roosevelt Farm Lane Trailhead on Rt. 9 opposite the Home of FDR. Bring: water, cameras, snack(s), bug spray, sun screen and/or a hat for protection from the sun.
