The National Weather service says a beach hazards statement is in effect for the Lake Michigan shoreline from 10 a.m. today (Monday) through this evening. High waves, strong currents and dangerous swimming conditions, including rip currents, are expected. This covers beaches from St. Joseph to Manistee. Those with particularly dangerous conditions today include Holland State Park, Grand Haven State Park and Pere Marquette Park in Muskegon.
