The October 11 Attack on Edo State Legislators Quarters. Its obvious that Edo is immersed in troubled water at the happenstance for the struggle of dominance in the political space. I rose to condemn the heartless attack on Hon. M. Rasaq last week. In the same vain, I condemn in its entirety the attack on other legislators domicile in the quarters, the attack is perceived to be a calculated reprisal, we are not at war in Edo State therefore no act of violence is fair. Emerging Facts: That the Police were pre informed hours before of the attack, yet they did not act. That the thugs converged at George Igah Primary School. That the Police supervised the reign of the havoc as captured by some onlookers camera phone. That 12 suspects have been arrested. Consequently, a more proactive operation by the police is required particularly when intelligence report is given, maybe this explains why no legislator was caught in the Quarters at the time of the attack, but what did the innocuous security men at the gate do to have deserved brutal beating? That attack is unfortunate, cruel, repugnant, unpalatable, repulsive and catastrophic. Our youths must refuse to be agents of destruction but agents of development. Legislators, please in the interest of those you claim you represent, give peace a chance.
