The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) wishes to remind the public that we are currently in what has been traditionally regarded as the rainy season. Jamaica’s bimodal rainfall pattern consists of two peak periods with higher values of rainfall and corresponding periods of lower rainfall amounts. The primary peak occurs in October and the secondary in May, though deviations from this pattern do occur from year to year. As rains associated with a trough currently within Jamaica’s vicinity continue to affect sections of the island, precautionary measures are urged. #JISPR #ODPEM
