"The Old Testament law on how our government should be set up - TopicsExpress

"The Old Testament law on how our government should be set up [...] this is just not it. The taxes, this is one big reason … there is just no way I can morally pay income tax. You can’t get work without paying the income tax. I’ve just gotta get out of the country. I want to go somewhere where I can work." ~ Sean Gastonguay, Dominionist Christian loony who set sail from San Diego last May for Kiribati, a remote island nation in the Pacific Ocean in order to escape the "United States of Sodom" He brought with him his brainwashed wife and their infant and three-year-old daughters. They ended up back in the United States cause they were hit by "squall after squall, after squall." A Venezuelan fishing boat found them after they had been adrift for three months. HOW ARE THESE PARENTS NOT IN JAIL FOR CHILD ENDANGERMENT?! FYI: People did pay income taxes back in the Old Testament days. Although the concept of an “income tax” didn’t exist in its modern form, the Old Testament makes it very clear that people were expected to pay taxes on all sources of income, to the tune of 20%-30% per year on top of the 10% tithing expected for the church: Leviticus 27:30-32: And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s: it is holy unto the Lord. And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the Lord. (10% to the church) Genesis 47:24-26: And it shall come to pass in the increase, that ye shall give the fifth part unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones. (20% to the government) Numbers 18:20-24:And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. (10% to the government workers)
